Itinerary
Day 1- Arrival
Upon arrival at Kotoka International Airport (KIA), you will have a chance to exchange money inside the terminal. The group will then be met for a transfer to the hotel. Check in is at 3 PM. Rest from your journey.
Day 2 - Accra City Tour
Today, we will tour the city of Accra. We will visit many sites such as Independence Square, Dubois Center, and Kwame Nkrumah. Later we will meet for our Welcome Dinner. End the day with our Black & Gold Welcome Dinner.

Day 3- Naming Ceremony
After breakfast, we will start the day with a naming ceremony amidst drumming and dancing, where participants will be given traditional names. After lunch at a local restaurant, we will visit the Dubois Centre for Pan Africanism. In the evening, join in AfroFuture celebrations, focused on the music, culture and art of Africa.

Day 4 - Community Service
Today is a day for community service. We will visit a ministry or school where we can volunteer our time and interact with those in need. After lunch, we will return to the hotel to rest for the evening activities. In the evening, join in the night's festivities.

Day 5- Central Region
Set off for the Central Region along a coastline marked with forts. On arrival, we visit the Elmina Castle, declared as a UNESCO World heritage site, was built by the Portuguese in 1482 as São Jorge da Mina (St. George of the Mine). It is a well preserved castle with an incredible history and infamous for its pivotal role in the trans-Atlantic slave trade. Continue to the Cape Coast Castle, declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site and its West African Historical Museum. Take a walk through the colonial city to experience the present day way of life. After lunch we will return to Accra.

Day 6 - Free
Today, enjoy the day at leisure. Enjoy the day at the beach or shopping in Ghana. Later we will join in the New Year’s Eve festivities.

Day 7- Aqua Safari
Today, we will have an option to visit the Aqua Safari. We will leave Accra and head for the Aqua Safari. Here we have the opportunity to enjoy Segway rides, Kayaking, jet ski, boat riding, cycling, wildlife, and other outdoor sports. There is a pool where a dj plays the latest hits. You will also be served a BBQ style buffet meal for lunch. We will return to Accra, later in the evening.

Day 8- Aburi Gardens/ Free Day
Today, you have an opportunity to enjoy free time in Ghana or an optional tour of Aburi Botanical Gardens.
Those who select Aburi Botanical Gardens will stop for lunch at the Hillburi Hotel. Return to Accra in the late afternoon. End the day with a farewell dinner in African attire.

Day 9- Depart
Spend the morning free at the hotel. Enjoy some last minute shopping. We have a late checkout. In the evening, we’ll check into the airport for departure.

Ghana Entry Requirements
- US passport valid for 6 months past your return date and one blank visa page.
- Yellow fever vaccination taken at least 10 days before arrival for US passport holders.
- Note, if originating or transiting through WHO-designated yellow fever countries you may be required to have a yellow fever vaccination.
- Some have received a waiver for this requirement. You should consult your physician if you believe that you may qualify for a waiver.
- Malaria protection is highly encouraged (not required).
- A Visa is also required for US Passport Holders to enter into Ghana.
- Non-US Citizens or travelers without a US passport will need to consult their local embassy.
